Asian Influence in an Old Farmhouse Redesign

Henrietta Heisler, Owner, President & Director of Design for Henrietta Heisler Interiors walks us through her dramatic redesign of the bathroom in an old farmhouse

"A client was referred to us with very unique tastes. A bachelor, he travels frequently and collects Asian-influenced art and artifacts. The old farmhouse bathroom was narrow and choppy with ceilings under 8' high. We reconfigured the space to provide better access and designed an Asian inspired bathroom using Island Stone tile products. Our rep brought an Island Stone catalog that we found very inspirational for this project."

"We realized that the Crescent Interlock Mini tiles in Sandstone Mint would create an Asian bamboo look when vertically placed. Adding a ceiling mirror in the shower created the illusion of never-ending bamboo. We then decided to create a pathway in and around the shower and bath with Natural Mosaics Level Pebble in Antique Timor White. These tiles created a beautiful and unique floor that is also slip-resistant."

"Our client is thrilled with the results. We stayed within budget and the Island Stone company was wonderful to work with!"
