Halo Edging: A New Direction in Mosaic Tile Design

Halo Edging: A New Direction in Mosaic Tile Design

A short history...

In the late 90's Island Stone disrupted the classic range of cut stone mosaics with the introduction of Perfect Pebble Tiles. From these humble beginning blossomed  a dynamic range of mosaic, designed to create seamless surfaces with distinctly natural appeal.

As our designs and palettes broadened, we remained committed to the fundamental ethos of an flawless, uninterrupted natural surface.

Until today...

Halo Edging is our design teams innovative method of building modern geometric mosaic tiles, utilizing the attractive natural shapes of pebbles and broken edge stones.

This groundbreaking approach defines a perimeter shape by hand placing specially cut stones to create a defined edge and then filling in this frame with full pieces of the same stone. The resulting design creates a geometric halo around the distinctive mosaic shapes that make up each tile.

Once placed, the tiles create a distinct modern pattern while still featuring the desirable appeal of natural stone mosaics.

We invite you to view both designs on our website as well as in our introductory video below

Products: Honeycomb Cobbles & Randoms

Our introductory range is a classic honeycomb shaped tile offered in two distinct designs made from popular stones in our Random and Cobble formats. While identical in outline, the unique personalities of the Cobbles rounded pieces and Randoms irregularly tumbled result in distinctly different tiles.
